Alternative DIY Allotment Wedding // Lee & Imogen
I’ve been super excited about photographing Lee & Imogen’s alternative DIY allotment wedding for a long time. When they described to me their ideas for the day I knew it would be an amazing, utterly unique, wedding which suited them down to the ground. The pair always wanted the day to be all about friends and family and completely relaxed! Oh and lots of feathers of course.
Imogen and her dad took a glorious walk through the woods to meet the wedding guests, who had gathered for the ceremony in a perfect clearing in the trees. The sun broke through the leaves as they made their vows to each other. As ceremony locations go, this was pretty special. It’s a place that’s really special to them both and they’ve been walking through this section of the park for years.
Moor Green Allotments Wedding Reception
Following the ceremony, Lee and Imogen lead their wedding guests back through the woods to Moor Green Allotments for the reception and party. The celebrations took place in The Pavilion, a wonderfully unselfconscious clubhouse set amidst the greenery and plots. Lee & Imogen decorated it beautifully (hello…gold dipped feathers!) while retaining it’s natural charm.
I’ve loved getting to know these guys over the last couple of years and had such a blast being their allotment wedding photographer this summer.
A huge thank you to the insanely talented Stephen Arnold for second shooting the wedding. Here are some of my favourite images from the day:
